The Distance EDUcation Unit (or “DEDU”) focuses on capacity-building Human Resources for Health (HRH) at all levels of healthcare, with a goal to strengthen healthcare delivery systems in India and other developing countries, and with a special objective to facilitate health care access to especially poor and marginalized people, in the spirit of Christ.
We deliver our content in a blended learning format, combining self-learning modules (printed and online, asynchronously), synchronous online contact programs, as well as face-to-face onsite contact programs. We adopt teaching methods which incorporate adult learning principles through a problem-based, self-learning approach, aided by modern education technologies. This methodology has helped in training large numbers without displacing them from their areas of service – bringing education to their doorstep!
